Christine A. Ateah is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Manitoba. She has been a member of resolve since its inception and is also a member of the Provincial Advisory Committee on Child Abuse (Manitoba). Her research interests are in child and family health promotion, parenting, parent education, use of physical punishment by caregivers and prevention of child abuse. Doctoral research consisted of an examination of the determinants of maternal use of physical punishment and the implications for the prevention of child physical abuse.
