Dirk Kruijt is Professor Emeritus of Development Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Utrecht University. He has published on poverty and informality, military governments, guerrilla movements in Central America. and war and peace in Latin America. He currently works on history of the armed Left in Latin America.
